The Prayer of the Enjoyment Body Pure Realm

“Jasper Blossoming by Moonlight”

The Victor Buddha having limitless light,

the deity of the individual realization of diversity,

I prostrate to Buddha Chédrak Ngӧmé (Insubstantial Diversity).

To the Blissful Pure Realm,

For those who wish to be swiftly reborn there, 

Face the sacred western direction, 

Through the six purities, recite this prayer.

OM MA TRI MU YÉ SA LÉ DU

É MA HO

From here to the direction of the setting sun,

beyond and above countless worlds,

is the Blissful Pure Realm.

This place is not created by anyone.

Its nature is spontaneously complete,

abiding without directions and borders.

The shape of the palace is an extensive square,

with four doors of the four compassions,

door ornaments of the eight paths of liberation,

the single coiled peak of Primordial Wisdom,

beautiful fringed networks and tassels of complete qualities,

inside and outside of the palace is unobscured.

Upon a throne of a fearless lion, powerful elephant,

magical supreme horse, peacock and

enlightened activities shang shang bird joined together.

On a stainless lotus bundle,

and piled sun and moon cushions of means and wisdom.

The Victor Buddha, Immeasurable Limitless Light,

Clear red like a ruby offering tree,

Bathed by one-hundred thousand suns,

With one face, the Single Sphere.

Atop the hands are Utpala flowers, the two truths.

Holding a yungdrung scepter, the hook of compassion.

Clothed in garments, complete qualities.

Cross-legged, subjugating the demons.

With a head ornament of the Five Mӧnlam Prayer Deities,

The red Mӧnlam Infinite Contemplation,

The yellow Mӧnlam Changeless,

The blue Mӧnlam Source of Wishes,

The red Mӧnlam Limitless,

The green Mӧnlam All-Meaningful Accomplishment.

In the right and left hands are the family implements and vases.

Sitting on a lotus, sun, and moon throne.

Watching me with the eye of compassion.

To the Pure Realm of Buddha Ӧpagmé, Limitless Light,

Through single-minded devotion,

Praising with pleasant melody,

I make full prostrations respectfully with my body.

Emanating from light rays of the right hand,

Is the green Buddha Limitless Light Ӧpagmé.

Emanating from lights rays of the left hand,

Is the white Great Mother Thugjé Chamma,

Emanating from light rays of the right foot,

Is the blue Secret Lord Ӧpagmé.

Emanating from light rays of the left foot,

Is the azure Appearing Color Ӧpagmé.

Emanating from light rays of the Enlightened Mind,

Are the three deathless Buddhas Father and Sons.

All these Buddhas have their own hand gestures.

Inconceivable gatherings of deities come from above.

I prostrate to Ӧpagmé, Buddha Limitless Light!

The Enlightened Body shining with the Thirty-Two Excellent Marks.

The Enlightened Speech issuing the Eighty-Four Thousandn Teachings.

The Enlightened Mind blazing with the Sixty Primordial Wisdoms.

The Qualities are like a wish-fulfilling jewel.

The Enlightened Activities are effortless, spontaneously complete.

I prostrate to Ӧpagmé, Buddha Limitless Light.

Faithfully joining palms together,

Just saying your name one time,

Through your swift compassion that is like a bolt of lightning,

Leading away from ever being born in a bad place,

I prostrate to Ӧpagmé, Buddha Limitless Light.

From imagining that you are in front of me,

If I pray to you with devotion,

You will never give up your compassion,

It is said that one will be reborn in your Pure Realm,

I prostrate to Ӧpagmé, Buddha Limitless Light.

When your name is heard one time,

One will not be born in an impure body.

Through being born in good castes of gods and humans,

It is said one will be born amongst your retinue.

I prostrate to Ӧpagmé, Buddha Limitless Light.

From beginningless time until now,

The five inexpiable, and five nearly inexpiable actions,

The four heavy, eight wrong, and the nine delusions,

The ten non-virtues, I confess the accumulation of all these negative actions.

The Four Defeats, Remainders,

Afflictive Emotions, Delusions, Great Rules, Discipline, Food,

Three Separate Parts, and so forth,

I confess breaking the vows of Individual Liberation.

The Special Three-Hundred and Sixty,

Condensed into the Twenty-Eight,

More condensed into the Four Negative Bӧn,

I confess having damaged the trainings of the Enlightened Mind.

The Twenty-Five Root Commitments,

Seventy Branch Commitments,

One-Hundred and Eight Outer Commitments,

I confess having damaged the Secret Mantra commitments.

Even though not have received the actual vows,

The natural misdeeds done,

By myself and those I have encouraged others to do,

As well as those I have rejoiced at, I confess them all.

Butter lamps, flowers, incense,

Pure food grains, and clean water,

In order to purify the deluded experiences of the five paths,

I offer to you Ӧpagmé, Buddha Limitless Light!

Beautiful forms, melodious sounds, fragrant smells,

delicious tastes, soft touch, supreme teachings,

Elegant dance, and precious minerals.

In order to naturally purify the eight deluded consciousnesses,

I offer to you Ӧpagmé, Buddha Limitless Light.

Lotus, vase, golden Fish,

Victory banner, white conch, endless knot,

Thousand-spoked white parasol and wheel,

In order to get your qualities

I offer to you Ӧpagmé, Buddha Limitless Light.

The primordially, naturally pure realm of the three thousand-fold universe,

Mount Meru, continents, lakes, along with everything desirable,

In order to get the supreme Enlightened Bodies and Primordial Wisdom,

I offer all of this to you Ӧpagmé, Buddha Limitless Light.

When I hear of others’ virtuous actions,

Rejecting a jealous attitude towards these,

If I rejoice happily from my heart,

It is taught that you get the same merit.

The virtue of the noble assembly of those on the five paths,

The teaching activities of the Buddhas,

And all the meritorious virtue accumulated by ordinary beings.

I always rejoice in all of this.

In order to clear the suffering of cyclic existence,

The teachings of the nine vehicles, four doors and fifth treasury,

The outer, inner, and secret.

I request that you turn the wheel of the teachings

In order to lead sentient beings to liberation,

And that the teachings remain,

All the Buddhas and Sempas,

I pray that you remain forever

Like this and all virtue accumulated in the three times,

even the smallest virtue that I have done,

In order to take all sentient beings out of the ocean of cyclic existence,

I dedicate as the cause of supreme enlightenment.

I only rely on you,

Focusing on you all the time,

Please bestow your blessing,

That my mind becomes virtuous.

Here in this negative situation of cyclic existence,

Although I experience suffering again and again,

I feel it is happiness, not realizing it is suffering.

From now on may I be disenchanted!

This life’s parents,

And children, nieces, nephews, spouse, friends, and relatives,

May I not be attached to any of them,

And stay alone in solitude

Food, wealth, possessions, village, house,

Clothes, jewellery, all of this,

Correctly knowing that they are like illusions,

May I abandon them without attachment.

Notoriety, fame, reputation,

Being praised and respected by others,

Not pursuing any of these,

May I always be modest.

Business, agriculture, hoarding

Deceit, and hypocrisy,

Not generating all these afflictive mental states,

May my attitude be appropriate.

Distractions, laziness, worldly activities,

From abandoning all distraction,

Exerting in always engaging in the teachings,

May all activities become virtuous.

Others who harm me,

Condemn and speak harshly,

Not becoming angry or vicious with them,

May I return this with love.

After I die, may I not be reborn,

In the three lower realms and as a downcasted god,

Eunuch, prostitute, weak, servant,

Or impoverished May I not be reborn,

Similarly, may I not be reborn in an impure body with impaired senses,

Evil actions, wrong views,

Sickly, insane, or harmful to others.

May I not be reborn in an impure body

After the breath stops and the luminosity arises,

At the same time Ӧpagmé, Buddha Limitless Light and retinue,

Manifest directly in front of me,

May they come to greet me.

Any appearances of the bardo,

Deciding that they are the dynamic energy of Rigpa,

Like an antelope climbing rocks,

May I be without fear.

After that, Ӧpagmé, Buddha Limitless Light and retinue,

When they manifest in the sky,

The light path where they go,

May I go on that path without obstructions.

Without attachment to cyclic existence,

Like an eagle escaping a net,

Facing the western direction,

May I escape without looking back.

When I am born in the Blissful realm

From the heart of a lotus,

May I instantly get a perfect body,

And see the face of Ӧpagmé, Buddha Limitless Light.

At that time, purifying the obscurations on the path of seeing,

Making offerings like Emanation Delight Gods,

Manifesting unobstructedly,

May I make offerings to Ӧpagmé, Buddha Limitless Light!

Having unbounded Buddha Limitless Light

When giving profound and vast teachings,

From hearing them,

May I get experience and liberation.

Everywhere the ground is the color of coral,

With turquoise checkered yungdrung designs,

When you press down it raises up,

May I be born in this amazing place.

Wish-fulfilling trees made of precious jewels,

Give whatever you want or need.

Many emanation birds sing songs of the teachings,

May I be born in this blissful place!

The water is endowed with the eight special qualities.

The ponds are clear and odorless,

Completely surrounded by precious-jeweled fences.

May I be born in this pure place!

Everywhere is filled with precious jeweled lotuses.

Each lotus has its own light,

Seated upon which are emanation Buddhas.

May I be born in their presence.

The environment is formed in the manner of the ten paramitas,

With only precious jewels and no rocks,

The four seasons are balanced and there is no day or night,

May I be born in this pure place.

The inhabitants of this pure realm are gods and goddesses,

They have the marks and characteristics of enlightenment.

They are without afflictive emotions so there is no suffering.

May I be born where there is no birth and death.

There is no bias to self and others,

You do not hear the name of the lower and higher realms.

There is no sickness, poverty, or fighting.

May I be born in this blissful, happy place.

Since there is no gender there is no sexual misconduct.

Everyone is born from a lotus,

With five eyes and six energies.

May I be born in this place where obscurations are purified.

Here you stay in a precious-jewelled palace,

Whatever you wish for comes in the palm of your hand.

Without effort or striving everything comes naturally.

May I be born in this perfect place.

Ngӧnpar Gawa, Lerab Dzogpa,

Palden Dzepa, and Tukpo Kӧpa,

I go to all these pure realms.

Seeing the faces of Salwa Ragjung, Gelha Garchuk,

Gawa Dӧndrub, and Kün Nang Khyapa.

May I see the face of these buddhas

Receiving initiations, blessings, and teachings,

And prophecies of becoming a Buddha.

After the prophecy is fulfilled, I benefit sentient beings,

Continuously with the four compassions,

Until the last cycle of sentient beings is emptied.

pak tu mé pé dön jé shok

May I be of unlimited benefit.

Finally, self and all sentient beings

Recognize the single sphere,

All sentient beings become a Buddha.

May everyone be equal in the expanse of reality

I pay homage to Ӧpagmé, Buddha Limitless Light.

May I be born in the Blissful Pure Realm.

OM MA TRI MU YÉ SA LÉ DU

To the Lord Buddha Ӧpagmé, whom I believe,

With strong devotion and complete reliance upon you,

Bless me that whatever I pray for,

Be swiftly accomplished.

Aspiration Prayer

The embodiment of all the Buddhas and the essential energy

of love and compassion,

Which manifests as the lord of compassion, the Buddha

Limitless Light.

We and all students and mother sentient beings,

Please bless us with your compassion.

Dedication

May this life become meaningful and may all adverse

conditions and obstacles be pacified.

May longevity, glory, wisdom, and energy increase.

At the bardo may we connect to the light path of Buddha

Limitless Light’s compassion,

And be reborn in the Blissful Pure Realm.
