The Four Generosities Practice (jin pa cha zhi) is a powerful practice for cleansing, awakening your inner spirituality, and releasing attachments.
Through these practices, we connect with the Protectors, Yidams, Khadros and Lamas. Doing these practices on a regular basis gives a deep connection with four classes of sentient beings, including beings that are circling in this karmic world, through making offerings and releasing attachments. These practices are especially powerful if done while you are in a personal retreat.
The Jinpa Cha Zhi – Four Generosities include:
Sang (Smoke Offering). This practice is done early in the morning. It cleanses negative karma, opens blockages of internal energy and uplifts life force chi.
Chutor (Water Offering). This practice is done in the mid-morning. This practice removes karmic impurities, and releases and speeds healing from physical and mental illness that may have been caused by karma.
Sur Chöd (Burnt Food Offering). This practice is done in the evening. We dedicate this practice to all sentient beings – to pay off karmic debts, to free us from the suffering and emotional obscuration, and to awaken our inner awareness.
Chöd (Personal Offering). This practice is done at night. We imagine offering our own bodies to those to whom we owe karmic debts, providing benefit for ourselves as well as others. This practice helps us overcome our emotional attachments.

A Prayer to the Entourage of Deities and Protectors
To you, together with an entourage of oath-bound protectors,
By establishing this support of inseparable allies,
May I, a Bon practitioner, be accompanied
by them, like a body and its shadow.
May I be accompanied by a fragrance like sandalwood.
May my head be sheltered by a helmet.
May my body protected by armor.
May I have an entourage to my right.
May I have wings to my left.
May I be warmed by fire.
May I be quickened by lightning.
May I be strengthened by thunder.
May I have fatherly protection.
May I have motherly loving kindness.
May I have sisterly affection.
May I have friendly love.
When summoned, please come.
When dispatched, please go.
When commanded, be quick.
When I need support, surround me.
May you protect the teachings of the Buddhas.
May you increase the lineage of the Shen.
Like a wish-fulfilling gem, please accomplish all our prayers and aspirations.
Through merely recollecting you may all the samaya-breakers and enemies of the teaching be cut off.
Please do whatever deeds need done.
Slay hostile enemies.
Subdue hindering spirits.
Dispel outer, inner, and secret obstacles.
Prolong the life of the deathless Yungdrung.
Increase resources and material wealth.
Reverse obstructing conditions.
Spread primordial wisdom of knowledge and love free of a self.
Like a wish-fulfilling gem, please accomplish all our prayers and aspirations.
This was composed by Nyammé Sherab Gyaltsen.
Supplicating wisdom
Om Shenrab Lama, lamp which dispels the darkness of ignorance.
Master of compassion inseparable from primordial wisdom.
Ponsé Lama, please give me your attention. Aa Om Hung
Generating bodhicitta,
I will practice, this desirable activity famed in
The three-thousand realms of existence, and
Through the discipline of awareness and limitless compassion,
I will generate the supreme bodhicitta of the peerless Kuntu Zangpo.
From now, until reaching the essence of Yungdrung,
I will generate this supreme state of mind,
for the benefit of migrating beings. Aa Om Hüng
Refuge
To the Shenrab-lama: the glorious source of the three enlightened bodies,
To the Sugatas of the three times: the protectors of all sentient beings,
To the representations: images of their enlightened forms, relics, and the scriptures,
And to the Shenrab of the ten directions: the lamps who show the path of liberation,
Prostrating to these four objects of refuge, I and all beings go for refuge.
Making confession
Namo. From the formation of existence until now,
Lacking realization of enlightened body and primordial wisdom,
And the words and commitments I have received, I have obscured them.
In the magical maṇḍala of peaceful and wrathful deities,
With a reflective and remorseful mind, and these sorrowful words,
All degenerate commitments and all those with degenerate samaya
With whom I have. a one time or place, mixed with, appeased, and so forth,
[All] degenerations of food and eating, degenerations of beverages and drinking,
[All these] I completely confess to the magical peaceful and wrathful deities.
Having offered complete confession, may I be purified. Aa Om Hüng
Invocation of Yeshe Walmo
O Mother, great protector of the teachings of the Buddhas of the three times,
Supreme Mother, O Sipé Gyalmo, Queen of the world, mother of space,
Your sacred body is dark azure, radiating like the bright luster of the sky,
Your sacred body is adorned with a cloak of shining peacock feathers.
With a sword of meteorite iron in your right hand, you sever the lives of enemies.
With a long-life vase in your left hand, you extend the life-span and life-force of all practitioners.
To you, O Yeshé Walmo, together with your retinue,
We offer these masses of ornaments and inexhaustible nectars.
Guard well the tremendous teachings of the Yungdrung Bön,
And through your alliance with us strengthen the power and courage of us practitioners.
We, masters and disciples, together with our retinues,
Beseech you, O Mother, to bring about the pacification of all obstacles and disharmonies,
Dissolving them all into the space of the vast expanse of the sky!
SO MA MA RA YO DZA
A Praise of Sipé Gyalmo Composed in Alphabetical Verses
SO MA MA DZA JO E MA HO
Mother of basic space, the uncontrived, primordially pure, bonku,
In order to plant the Bon teachings in the Land of Snows.
To you, Oh Supreme Mother, Sipé Gyalmo, wherever you may be,
I pray that you come when I simply call on you.
Provide protection from bridges, boats, narrow passages, and infectious diseases.
To Her who, elegantly dressed, radiates a joyful smile,
The finest tea and chang, and an ornamented tsok-torma,
Laid out in a precious skullcup and oyster-shells.
Presents of horses, yaks, sheep, and wealth,
Through all these offerings, free of distinctions, may we restore our bond.
Now, for us, masters and aspirants,
Our diseases, miseries, Lord of Death – whatever may occur,
Without weakening your magical dynamic-energy,
Pacify those through transcendent spells and rituals of inciting and dispatching.
Oh Mother, with a vast womb, one-hundred heads, and one thousand hands,
And a retinue of ma mo, ḍākini, Zéma, Gyéma, and Parma,
Holding wheels and axes as weapons.
Poised in the middle of sparking fireballs,
When reciting the spell Dza thun so and Jo Jo,
Foxes yelp; owls laugh; wolves wail.
Various epidemics of crippling diseases, deafness and dumbness,
Are sent to the path of the enemies and their land is destroyed.
May all the objectives I desire be accomplished.
May I be protected from wild armies, māras, and the Lord of Death.
Take this offering of rasayana-medicine and
Generally, be a friend and protector of the Buddha’s teaching.
Flesh-eating spirits, ma mo, ḍākinī
All, up to the great Mother of the basic-space of the tenth ground,
Their faces showing a radiant smile,
Please plant the victory-banner of the teachings of the A-kar yungdrung Bon.
Lha Gyal Prayer for Increasing Prosperity and Luck
May we be protected by the compassion of the Teacher!
May the aspiration of the deities be powerful!
May the Bön teachings flourish!
May the contentment and happiness of sentient beings be bountiful!
May non-virtuous negative actions decline!
May barbaric abusiveness decrease!
May all sentient beings in Cyclic Existence,
After cutting the continuum of sufferings and misery,
Obtain sublime auspiciousness!
