The preliminary practices of Dzogchen are indispensable - a strong and necessary base for the actual practice. According to the Yungdrung Bǒn tradition, the preliminary practices must be accumulated and practiced before Dzogchen practice begins, and they also need to be continually integrated as one focuses on Dzogchen mediation.

You can practice all nine preliminary practices together in one day. This is how.
Every day in the morning at dawn sit in the five-point posture and meditate repeatedly on impermanence. After that, recite the confession prayer, generate the enlightened mind, take refuge, do mandala offerings, do your mantras, do body offering, and finally prayer (guru yoga). All this do three or five times. Afterwards, dedicate the merit to all sentient beings using the general dedication. Practice all of this in the correct way, without any mistakes. Do them one by one in the proper order.
At midday, do prostrations, and circumambulations – walking meditation. Do your daily prayers and other daily activities.
When you practice, control the body, do not mix speech with idle talk, and the mind is focused on every meditation/visualization.
Furthermore, don’t shame yourself or cheat yourself in your practice.
There is no need to show off your practice, let your compassion and understanding shine outward.
Apply my teaching without distraction, and take my teaching meaningfully.
The Drang Don Sutra states,
“If you deceive yourself it is regretful, and you curse yourself.”
Also, don’t discourage yourself and think your practice is weak and meaningless. Trust in your own ability to transform.

Although there's no tradition of writing down the oral transmission of Zhang Zhung Nyengyü
