From Lamp One “Lamp of the Abiding Base” of the Six Lamps of the Dzogchen Zhang Zhung Nyengyü
Relax. Don’t go thinking about any of the teachings. Just relax but keep the backbone straight. That is the main point. Close your eyes. Bring your attention to the body. Be relaxed and feel free. Feel the openness in the body. The body is still. Feel that stillness.
Now bring your intention to the center of the heart. Feel the openness in the center of the heart. The heart is still. In the center of the heart is the empty space of your mind. In the center of the heart is the space of your mind. Feel that space. Connect with that space. Feel that stillness in the center of the heart. Rest in that stillness. Space is still like the sky. Be that stillness rather than trying to be still. Be aware of that stillness. Be aware of that unbounded space of rigpa like the sky. The essence of the space is the emptiness of the nature of the mind. Everything abides in that great space. Feel that space. That space is the individual rigpa, universal ground of mind. The nature of that space is luminosity. That is the rigpa.
Do not be caught by the mental conceptual thoughts. Simply leave it as it is. Leave it as it is without mixing with the mind’s aspiration, agenda, and motivation. Abide continuously experiencing through that non-mediation state. Do not hold any expectations about that state, nor doubt that state.
The union of space and rigpa is the dharmakaya, the nature of reality. Everything abides in the precious union of emptiness and awareness. Continuously connect with this state. Be this state. Be aware of this state as much as you can.
That is the base and foundation of your Enlightened Mind, Bodhicitta. Stay connected with this state. That is the individual Dharmakaya Buddha Kuntu Zangpo. Pray, go for refuge and connect with this state every session.
Now relax and come back into the body.
