Silent Observation Meditation
A Five-minute Meditation
Silent observation meditation has three main points.
First, relax the body and mind.
Second, observe, which means watching each thought as it arises.
Third, self-release. Just leave everything as it is. It is like it disappears.
This is a very important five-minute silent observation practice.
First, relax and settle your body and mind.
Next, watch each thought as it arises, without judging it as good or bad. Whatever thought appears, do not label it or give it meaning. Just let everything be and simply observe.
Then, the third step: imagine each thought is like writing on the surface of water. See it vanish the moment it appears. This is what we call self-release.
