To begin relax. Open your eyes. Place your mind’s attention on the tip of your nose. Allow your breath to be natural as you breath in and out. As you breathe in, become aware of the breathing in. As you breathe out, become aware of the breathing out.
Keep your mind on the tip of the nose. Do not think about the breath, just notice the breathing in and the breathing out. Without any commentary.
When breathing out, focus on the breathing out. When breathing in, focus on the breathing in.
[Sit for ten minutes]
Now relax. This meditation can help you keep your mind in a single place and also help you recognize you are still breathing. Through this breath you can come to understand that you are alive. That is important. We are often too busy in our worldly activities and we forget that we are living beings. This is why we can take time to sit, relax, put down our “to do” lists and come home to our breath, placing the mind on the tip of the nose. Even if there is a lot going on, such as sights and sounds; we can not follow them but simply stay on our breath. Simply relax and feel what it is like to be alive in this precious body.
