Absey Gyalwa

A BHI SHU SA MA YA TRI TRI RA TSA É PHE. 

Sipe Gyalmo is the protector of all of Yungdrung Bon, but each yidam has its own protector. Absey Gyalwa is the main protector of Takla Mebar. Absey Gyalwa is a very strong protector for Takla Mebar. Absey Gyalwa's direction is the Northeast. His color is red, and he rides a horse holding an owl in left hand. The owl symbolizes the soul. When we see owls coming, we know that Absey Gyalwa is on his way. His mantra is: A BHI SHU SA MA YA TRI TRI RA TSA É PHE. 

Offering to Absey Gyalwa

Assembly of Ma Yel Drak Mar Tsen,
Ma Da Damchen, Drak Tsen Mar,
Yungdrung Dradül, the powerful one—
With your entire retinue, please come here.

Be mindful of the sacred commitments;
Attend to these offerings made with devotion.
Offerings of the five desirable sense objects,
White and red foods, drinks and grains,
Medicinal offerings, flowers, and fragrant incense;

To Jowo Drak Tsen Marpo Sang,
To the protector of the teachings, Absey Gyalwa Sang,
To Yumchen Sasin Mamo Sang,
To Singmo Tsencham Marmo Sang,
To Sumo Lucham Karmo Sang,

To the three sisters of karma and activity,
To the five ministers of the council,
And to the hosts of attendants and retinues.

To you, protectors of Tibet,
I make these offerings and praises.
Protect the practitioners and their retinues;
Increase their life, wealth, prosperity and favorable circumstances.

Liberate us from enemies and obstructing forces;
Protect and uphold the teachings.
You who are the inseparable guardians and protectors,
Ma Yel, please accomplish all our wishes and purposes.

May all our intended aims and purposes
Be accomplished!

Herein is Contained the Exhortation of the Fierce Tsän Abse

Before the terrifying and blazing august form, one prostrates! Restoring (one’s commitments) to the rock tsän and exhorting him, one prepares red shöbu sacrificial cakes (small tormas) from first collected portions of faultless flour and grinded (with a knife or rasp) precious substances, surrounded by pure food offerings. One arranges the first collected portions of pure and costly offerings, decorated with red silken ribbons and raises one’s voice with these words:

Hail You! Sovereign lord of the solid and firm rocks,

Owner of the red-coloured (copper citadel) Sekhar in the northeast,

(With Your) agents the butchers who cut off the life-force,

You are the lord of thousand divisions of rock tsän (spirits)

The sovereign of the red butchers (who kill with) knives and diseases.

Your father is Abse Gyalwa la;

Your mother is the Sasin Mamo.

You are Sogdag Marpo, the red owner of the life-force,

Surrounded by thousands and thousands of divisions of butchers.

You who bring the life of sentient beings also under Your power

Are a terrifying red man, about one spear (tall),

On the head tangled red dread-locks,

On Your august form You wear a wide cloak of red silk,

In the hands holding a spear with silken ribbons and the noose of the tsän,

As mount You are riding a red tsän-horse with a blaze.

You unleash the owl, the bird of the rocks, against the enemies,

Liberate quickly the enemies who are preparing (troubles).

You are the lord Yungdrung Dradul Dragpo, the eternal forceful conqueror of the enemies.

Because in the morning, we serve wheat to You as inner (offering),

(And) tonight, in the evening offer libation,

(And when You) partake of this most excellent offering,

(Then) become my helper and friend!

Hated enemies and harmful obstructors crush them to dust!

People, wealth, and food, these three, gather them under Your power!

Act as the drala, the custodian of property!

As the companions’ guard, avert (adverse) conditions and fulfil (all) hops!

Be the guardian in all (our) successive lives!

Guard the teachings of the Eternal Bön!

Accomplish the entrusted enlightened activities!

ŌM A-BHI-SHU SA-MA-YA TRI SHAM BÄ BHYO

E-DAM BHA-LING-TA KHA KHA KHA-HI

Thus said, one takes the offering cake to a clean place.

For the sake of future generations Tonggyung Thuchen has hidden this (text) in (the mountain range of) Mangkhar Chagkhar (metal castle, also called mang mkhar lcags 'phrang) in the lower valley (also called mdo phug). Later it was rediscovered by the Tulku Khyunggö (rTsal).
